Bluegrass Gospel Music

Russell Watkins
Winder, Georgia
Mandolin, Guitar, Dobro and Bass
Life Verse:  Psalms 62:2
"He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved."
Russell is a 1997 graduate of Hope Christian Academy and attended the University of Georgia majoring in business and psychology.  He is currently employed with Clinical Laboratory Services, Inc. as the Director of Human Resources.  As time allows, he also assists with his father's horse and carriage service.  Russell was saved at the age of 15 at a Youth Alive camp in North Carolina and is a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church. He works with the jail ministry and leads the singing for the inmates.  Russell fell in love with music during his senior year of high school and never passes up an opportunity to play music with others.  Those who have influenced his musical career include Adam Steffey, The Isaacs, Doyle Lawson, Doc Watson, Greg Butler and Rick Holder.

"It doesn't matter how professional you play, if your hands aren't in harmony with your heart, your music will not make a difference."
